3 HOT nights of rock music

"Bridgstock '03" followed hot on the heels of "Rockestra". Hot being the operative word! No-one who was in the School Theatre during those three steamy nights of July 9, 10, 11, 2003 will ever forget the experience. Air conditioners had to be shipped in, and were fought over by the crew in the lighting box!

The set list was even more contemporary than before, featuring songs by Alice In Chains (Tim Price), and Hole (Harrie Edwards). But there was little doubt the classic "Alright Now", performed by Becka Wells, won most favour with the audience and became the encore for closing night. (Becka had also given a notable performance as one of the Sugar Babes in the previous production "Rockestra"). Our resident "soul singer" Fran' Alton moved us all with "King Of Pain", and Alfie Penfold (who had been the opening act for the previous show) delivered a fine version of "Just the Way I'm Feeling".

Other performers included 'Cesca York, Sophie Heathcote, Rebecca Wallis, Jade Whitehouse, and Ellie Keys.

A noted feature of the school's rock shows is the number of talented players our guitar classes produce. Pictured here is Jonathan Sharpe whose power driven solos made for an exciting version of Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile".

The show came to it's conclusion with Sophie Goodwin's recital of the famous Bowie lyric "We can be Heroes, just for one day". For those three nights in July, how true that was.
